Coffee brewing at home
It’s not necessary to go to a coffee shop to enjoy an excellent cup of pour-over coffee. We can brew our coffee at home that will be as good – or even better- than the coffee that’s being served in coffee shops.
In doing so, we do not have to be a professional barista. There is no need to invest a lot of money for expensive equipment. It does not take a long time to learn how to brew fascinating coffee.
All we need:
● love & passion for coffee,
● willingness to endure,
● learn and experiment,
● freshly roasted, quality coffee beans,
● good water,
● manual grinder,
● scale or weight,
Let’s enjoy life! Let’s create our own special coffee moments 🙂 Let’s do it!
High of pouring of water to coffee grinds at coffee brewing
Many Coffee Brewers and Baristas are not aware that the height of the water stream during the pour-over process can have a big effect on the final result.
If you pour the water into the filter from high up, the stream is stronger and can go through coffee grains fast and easier. If you pour from a lower altitude, the stream is not as fast and goes through the coffee grains more softly and slower.
Only be sure you are constantly pouring the same amount of water with same speed. With this, you can change a lot in coffee. The prepared coffee can be over extracted, or under extracted. This is another activity what you can’t do with automatic or semi-automatic coffee brewer machine. Usually, this machine pours from the same high level.
As well be aware of total weight of kettle with water. I recommend more water, your hand will more stabilize.
I recommend moving up to down in a circuit.
