It can be any method, where the water consistently flows through ground coffee from the filter to the cup. The exit holes of the coffee-maker are open and not blocked. Pre-infusion gives you control over clarity and extraction of the coffee brewing process.

SLOW DRIP – COFFEE BREWING PREPARATION

About

This method has gained popularity in Japan. The Slow drip method is used mainly at cold brew. ”Hot” Slow drip is something like alternative between Pour over Drip coffee.

When we prepare coffee via the Drip method, we are slowly dripping water over the coffee grounds. In doing so, the water does not overflow the grind.

COFFEE BREWING BASICS

Steps before you start:

  • Prepare all equipment that you need.
  • Check to see if the grinder is clean.
  • Start preparing water. If you are in countries where you can use Tap water and it tastes good, I always recommend letting the water run for a few seconds before using it.
  • While heating the water, you can weight and grind the coffee, but it is best to use the coffee grains within 10 minutes.

What to look for when buying coffee beans:

1 . The Altitude of the plantation affects a coffee’s quality and taste. It needs to be taken into account that within the same coffee growing region, the coffee plants may grow at various different altitudes. Higher elevations produce harder, higher quality beans. The harder the beans are, the higher will be their concentration of sugars.

What to look for when buying coffee beans:

The date of roasting,

is an important factor that needs to be taken into account when brewing coffee. For brewed coffee it’s recommended to use the coffee beans 2 – 14 days after they had been roasted (max. 30 days off roast). To get excellent results for Espresso and moka pot coffee preparation, use the beans 2 – 21 days after roast. But nevertheless, you can use and get good results from coffee beans that are older than 6 weeks.
